My Comment:

Yes, military personnel should be allowed to use social media in the same way they are allowed to participate in video broadcasts that put them in touch with family.  However, I think they should only be allowed after proper training in relevant (and sanctioned) use and transmissions should go through a vetting process. A kind of “harmful words” filter.  Yes, that means reduced privacy. But that would be the price to pay for some semblance of normalcy.  It seems the more technology changes, the stranger the challenges we have to face and overcome.
